Overview
Dalkia is the world's leading energy services company (referred to in Australia as an Energy Performance Contractor or ESCO). In existence for over 70 years, Dalkia today is present in 41 countries around the world and employs 52,800 staff. It had annual revenues of AUD 17.2 bn in 2008. Dalkia is the energy services branch of the Veolia Environnement group.Dalkia Australia Pty, a wholly owned subsidiary of Dalkia International, entered the Australian market through the acquisition of TDU Pty Ltd (trading as Trane Australia and New Zealand) on 1st December 2006, through the purchase of 100% of the shares in TDU from its former owner, Trane - the worldwide leader in the manufacture and distribution of HVAC equipment, service, systems and controls.
Following the acquisition, Dalkia changed the name of TDU Pty Ltd to Dalkia Technical Services Pty Ltd (DTS) on the 23rd February 2007. As part of this acquisition, Dalkia has been granted the exclusive distribution rights in Australia and New Zealand of Trane's Air Conditioning products and controls solutions. DTS is also Australia's foremost Trend Controls Technology Centre.
Dalkia, through its acquisition, is the number one supplier (by revenues) of large kW commercial applied chilled water systems through its Trane distribution license. It is also the third largest HVAC service company in Australia and New Zealand (by revenues).
Dalkia Australia is actively growing the Dalkia International business model in Australia and has recently secured a number of significant projects that fit the Dalkia core business principles and demonstrate our ability to deliver on high value and high risk projects.
Dalkia Australia now has annual revenues of AUD 103 m in Australia and New Zealand (2009 data). It employs 386 employees, about 170 of which are service technicians with a further 50 apprentices. It provides Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) solutions to over 3,270 customers, covering over 9 million m2 of conditioned space in the retail, commercial, tertiary, health, and industrial sectors; servicing over 1,660 MW of chilled water production capacity.
